A person who was the first to cover up an entire row of numbers was a winner of the game. When it happened, the player needed to shout loudly “beano” to make everyone know he was a winner.
One day Edwin S. Lowe, a New York toy salesman, was visiting a country fair, where he say people playing this game and heard when one woman shouted “Bingo!” instead of “Beano”. She was in a hurry, trying to tell everyone that she had covered all her numbers, she became tongue-tied and shouted a wrong word. This story inspired Lowe and he came back to New York and decided to develop and market a new game – Bingo!
There is a story in the history when Bingo promotions could help a priest from Pennsylvania raise some needed funds for his church. What he did was running Bingo games in his church. But soon he understood that there is a problem: there were often too many winners! Together with a math professor, Carl Leffer, they worked heard to think over the solution. Eventually they decided to increase the amount of Bingo combinations.
That game became very popular all over the world. It is known as an enjoyable way of spending free time and easy way of earning money.
